Wood Lily The Season for Wildflowers
May and June are the best month for wildflowers on the Gunflint Trail. Bickner's Geranium, Clintonia, Coreopsis, Wood Lilies, Trout Lilies, Pitcher Plants, Wintergreen, Wild Iris, Columbine, Bird's Eye Primrose and Wild Lupine are but a few of the species that color the woods of our Boreal Forest at this glorious time of year. The Gunflint Trail community extends its gratitude to everyone participating in the tree-planting and Ham Run Half Marathon weekend May 2- 4, 2008. More than 50,000 pine seedlings were planted.
