The Mush for a Cure Fun Run on Saturday, March 15th was a huge success.  Twenty teams participated in the fun run in order to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  Mushers were asked to secure donations or pledges in order to participate and some folks went way beyond their call of duty.

Two individuals raised over $3000 each, Jessica Berg-Collman and Bob Baker of Gunflint Pines Resort.  They were each running teams with dogs from Black Magic Kennels.  Their totals combined with pledges received by other mushers totaled over $13,000.

It was a beautiful day on the Gunflint Trail.  The sun was out and the temperature was perfect; not too warm and not too cold.  Spectators enjoyed the exciting Sourdough Start and being able to watch mushers on the trail at various locations.  The fun continued at Trail Center where people could interact with the mushers and their dogs.  There was a bonfire with hot dogs and live music provided by Rod and Reel.

What a great way to raise money for a great cause.  Thanks to everyone who made the event possible.
