Winter or Spring?

March 21st, 2008 | News | 0 Comments

Lake Trout fishing is still open within the Boundary Waters until the end of this month.  Fishing reports have been excellent so get out while you still can and wet a line.  The weekend weather looks perfect for a day of fishing fun in the BWCA or any other winter activity.

The snow is holding up quite nicely but with spring here it won't last long.  The cross-country ski trails are groomed and in good shape.  The snowmobile trail is still white with only a couple of bare patches of earth showing.  It's a great time to visit the Gunflint Trail.

The wildlife is especially abundant this time of the year.  The deer are finding food alongside of the trail, the fox are running around and the wolves are howling.  Before long we'll see our first robin and then we'll know for sure winter is over, spring is here and summer isn't too far behind.
