Loon Lake Taxidermy offers all types and styles of taxidermy and specializes in traditional fish skin mounts, reproduction (Replica) fish mounts, and white-tailed deer mounts.
Owner John Hughes is a full-time taxidermist with more than 10 years of experience.
"As an avid fisherman and hunter, I know that you are looking for your trophy to be as lifelike and realistic as possible, and when it is returned to you it will be. My mounts are of the finest quality and artistic detail. I can create habitats for those who want more than a standard mount, too."
John has competed and won awards at both state taxidermy competitions and at the World Taxidermy Championships, in the white-tailed deer and life-size small mammal divisions.

Loon Lake Taxidermy is located at the southwest end of Loon Lake, 42 miles from Grand Marais.
Hours: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Friday through Tuesday; other times by appointment, but please be sure to call ahead.
