Hop on the sled, and travel back through time.
A hundred years ago, dog-sledding was one of the few ways to navigate the remote forests and frozen lakes of northeastern Minnesota during our long, snowfall-filled winters. Today, you can travel this way for the pure fun of it, all along the Gunflint Trail.
Boundary Country Adventures features a variety of guided mushing expeditions, where you learn by driving your own sled. Enjoy a quick, one-day trip or extend it to six days with overnights in bed & breakfasts, cabins and yurts.
Gunflint Lodge with its long tradition of dog sledding offers rides of various length, from a one-hour taste to a full day with trail lunch. Musher’s take out two guests at a time with a team of 10 – 12 huskies.
At Bearskin Lodge short tours, half day trips and full day trips are available with musher, Erik Simula. Each trip involves interactive time getting to know the dogs and the musher.
